i added two sets of outlets to our 4010 so i could have dual hydralics i have a valve that was on our 3010 and was used for the loader and was hooked up to the rear service (single outlet) and the lever was wired down hooked it up on the 4010 and pulled the lever down so could use the levers on the valve i had and when not using it you can hear the pump laboring like there is pressure building up it worked fine on the 3010 and never pulled down the pump why would it do it on the 4010 and i know hooking it up to the tee and the filter cover is the best but i already have all of this stuff to do it this way can it be done. i was told on the spool valve on the right side there is a plug and to remove it and take out the allen screw plug to make it open instead of closed so it can bypass is this correct and will it work?

If the valve is the convertible(open to closed or vice-versa) type valve it could still have an internal quad-ring blown allowing it to revert to open-center.

I finally got an OEM JD service manual(on CD) for our 4020 that has a very simplistic, easy to understand schematic of the hyd. system..... ....

If I can get my wife to show me how to post the picture of the schematic I'll get it up here for all to see..... . ;)

Once you take a look at the schematic it'll make perfect sense where the supply and return plumbing for your auxiliary valves needs to be connected to on the tractor & why a closed center valve is required..... ....

Isolate the return port. Remove coupler tip on that hose and direct into hyd filler tube. Start engine with levers on added valve in neutral. If oil flows out of open hose it's a open-center but needs to be closed-center to work properly on a 4010 or 3010

It's fine being economical and all. Problem is economics can't cheat the laws of physics. Get a "T" for the high pressure line. A pair of closed center dual loader control valves. And return the oil via a ported filter cover. Or a T in the scv return line.

i think the problem lies in the factory hydralic control valve under the dash i remember last year it kept dropping the pressure off of all cylinders hooked to it whether it was the drill the corn planter, disk, field cultivator and when i disconnected the new setup and moved the lever the same labor noise was heard and it sounds like a hissing noise in the hydralic control under the dash the seals may need replaced and i do have a closed center spool valve installed found out that tonight found the paper work on it and i was setup for closed center

You will be much happier purchasing a couple of T's and direct plumbing the loader joystick. And leave the scv open for uses other than with the loader. Cheaper than doing the entire dual scv update too. Just don't return the oil direct to the transmission case. One way or another return oil must enter prior to the trans filter. And downsteam the trans pump.

I'm not a mechanic, but I'm pretty sure the 4010 has a closed system....you would need to rig the spool so that it's closed. Put the plug back in and it should make the pump quit pumping all the time. When you leave the spool open, the pump operates all the time.....
