So, I was wanting to put new pads on my 51 AR and of course one of the drums was stuck HARD on the spline. I started using penetrating fluid heat and a sledge. Well I got a littler carried away with the hammer and managed to crack the drum in several places!! Where is my best bet to get a repacement? How much might it run me?

fixer2u - I don't personally have the answer, but the URL cited below (Taken from the JD-H Restoration Site) lists some pretty good sources for parts & services, and within that listing, you should quickly find a source. Be Blessed! (PatB)

I have broke a few of them myself they do split easy sometimes. Usually trying to frre up the brakes to move one that has been sitting awhile.

The best way to remove them from the shaft is to remove the complete assy. loosen the nut and then drop it on a hardwood block on a concrete floor. Works wonders on them.
