1. Do a JD 50 have enough poop to pull a small sqare baler? Also can the clutch pully be used to do belt work to pull a hammer mill?

Ground with a jd 10a (10 Inch) for years using a late B. 50 should be a little better. Russ

Dave, A 50 will work fine on a baler, we used to pull a 14T JD with ours. The only concern I have is if you"re going to pull a rack. If you"ve got any rolling ground then you will want a bigger tractor. I"ve been pushed (slid) down a hill with a half loaded rack. As far as the hammer mill goes it should work, just not very fast. John

thanks for the info. I had rather hear a poppin john run than eat when I am hungry. I plan to purchase a 50 or 60 to run a hammer mill, bale hay and bush hog a bit.

My 50 wore out a 14T, a 24T, and half wore out a NH 275 before we went to mostly round bales. I always had kickers, so it pulled the wagons too. Not exceptionly steep hills here. Ran a hammer mill for 10 years, but not hardly enough power for silo blower.
