5103 rear remotes

I have a 06 5103 that I decided I wanted to add a rear romote to be able to operate the hoist on a new to me grain wagon. I also intend on finding a transport disc. Dealer quoted me $560 for the kit and $340 for the labor. The sad thing is the grain wagon only cost $600 and the Farmall H that I am using now I only pd $650 for it. OK enough b*tch*ng. The questions are 1. How easy is it to install the kit and 2. Has anybody figured out a cheaper component list? Surely the basic componets aren't that expensive!? Thanks in advance.
 

List on that kit is $536.00. Freight comes up to $29.22. The book time for installation is 4 hours. At our dealership that would be $272.00. The kit itself is not hard to put on. It consists of a power beyond block that sandwiches between the rockshaft housing and the block that plumbs your loader. It takes so long because you have to remove the right rear tire and fender. However it is not a hard job. The kit should come with instructions. If it doesnt and the dealership wont print them out for you let me know. Ill get them for you.
 
Folks are so competitive about tractor pricing now, JD like all the manufactures are adding enhanced features. I wouldn't try a homemade arrangment but rather buy the kit...I've put several on and they're simple(my opinion). Use the correct wrenchs and you're home free.
 

I forgot to add... The price on that kit is pretty cheap compared to other manufacturers. By the time you paid for couplers, hoses, and a valve, then fabbed up a bracket, you would have close to $500 in it and it would not look stock which will detract from the value of your tractor.
 
I am assuming you have a loader on the tractor as I do on my 4600. I run a wood splitter off my loader quick disconnects, the dealer had 2 male ends and I just plug in. I made a long control rod to reach back to where I am standing.
