3010 Intake-No manifold heat

My dad used to have a 3010, he said it was a '61 but I don't have a serial number to verify, anyway. The intake manifold on it didn't have the blocks to switch around for summer/winter operation so the carburetor didn't ice up on it. So far it's the only 3010 I've seen like this. Anybody else seen one? Was it an option to get the manifold heat? Do you think it was an aftermarket manifold? Just was thinking about it this morning and was wondering.

Maybe it had an Lp manifold on it ? if you still have the tractor check for casting numbers on it.

Our 4020 has the block you switch and it sure does help alot.

I never thought of the LP manifold, just looked on tractor house and they had one good picture of the carb side of an LP 3010. Sure enough, that is the same manifold as the picture. Another mystery solved, I had never thought much about it while we had it but the carb on that thing would ice something horrible in the winter time. I was just looking at a picture of it this morning on the fridge, a picture of me on it when I was 12 driving it in a parade, and thought I'd ask.

Yah, my 4020 manual wants carburetor heat to 70 if plowing, to 90 if not working hard. But it hasn't frozen at 20 without heat either. It definitely runs poorly on E10.
