Hi guys I am new hear. I am working on a 1946 A wide front. My question is the wheels seem to be installed inside out. the weld are to the outside. If you rotate them they rub the spindles I am just checking to see if that is normal or if the wheels are the wrong ones.

Second question the tractor had black face gauges in it and they are shot. It is a styled tractor hand start would it be ok to put white faces back?

I can't help you with the wheels, except to mention to look for a part number.

In terms of gauges you can put whatever you want back in. It is your tractor. If you wanted to put yellow ones in, knock your socks off and go for it.

I want to put it back as original as possible> I have located white faces with the JD on them I just think they look better. That is the only reason I was asking. I'm kinda new to the restoration thing.

Thanks for the reply

I understand completely. I just had to give you a hard time since you are a "newbe". All the newbes get a little leg pulling.

I am sure somebody will get you the correct answer pretty soon. Have you tried searching the archives for the information. I thought I had read it someplace else what the cutoff was for the different colored gauges.

White gauges will be fine and will look good.

Check the <a href="http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/pdfs/PC0675.PDF">JD parts catalog</a> for your wheel information.

Hope this helps.

It sounds like you may have the wrong rims on the front. They should be reversable with no interferance. Check the part number like someone else said.

ET, The front rims you want are part # JD1268R and they are reversible it took a bit of hunting to find the one I needed for my 1943 AW. The JD parts manual shows that they were on some Roll-A Matic tractors to. If you can't find them cut the rivets out of your wheels and reweld them so you have the right offset for you widefront.

Thanks I will look for those part numbers on the front wheels. Are they stamped any one special place?

Thanks for the heads up on the white gauges I did a Ford tractor and found out about the "corect police :D " Thats why I am asking now.
