trying to get my powertrol to run the rockshaft, on a john deere B i understand that i need the dummy plugs in the tractor instead of the hyd couplers to make rockshaft work,so i spun up some plugs on my lathe to the exact dimensions of the hyd coupler unit, but without any holes in my plug, still no workee, now im thinking i need holes and an oil passage out the front of the dummy plug or something of that order, i saw one in a picture and it looks shorter than the hyd coupler, did i make my plug to long? thanks for your help.

The plugs are different for different years and yes there is a hole in it. Not on the end but more in the middle of the staft You need to find out what ones you need. The one that is held on with a nut or quick coupler.

i think i have the retention end covered, powertrol has 2 little snaps with a spring strap thing and pins to hold plugs in place, i think im ok there that all seems to work fine, you wouldnt happen to have a couple up close pictures of a plug i could look at would ya? im wondering if the holes go from the middle or rear of the plug out the front to let oil through? thanks

To expand a little bit on what the earlier poster wrote, the dummy plugs have holes that go clear through. They go crosswise rather than the long way.

They do not come out either end of the plug at all.

You can get a picture by looking at the online John Deere parts Catalog.

The dummy plugs that I have out of a 60 DO have a hole lengthwise from the front back to the cross hole. The plugs to use with a remote cylinder do not have the hole from the front, but from the cross hole to the rear, where the coupler or hose screws in. Mike

i went to my shop and drilled like this one is and she works like a million bucks, the info is greatly appreciated, where did you get the nice picture like that, thanks again

thanks for the help mike that is what was going on, i drilled them as you described and it works perfect, thanks

I think that I got that from Clooney many moons ago. I should have listed him with that credit.

there is a screw on the power trol unit to turn the rock shaft on or off ,is it in the right postion also there is a screw to change the speed it will lower at

thanks to fit for jogging my memory. i put quick disconnect plugs on my valves to make it easier to hook my remote cylinder up and take it off. you have to be careful and not let your implement come loose from the draw bar and jerk a hose in half.
