1520 ported filter cover

If I buy a used ported filter cover for a 1520 tractor, do I need any other parts to make the conversion? adapter, bolt, etc?

I don't know about a 1520 but on my 4010 I had to use a longer bolt. The ported filter is a lot taller than the old cover. I then had to cut a groove in the new bolt for the snap ring.
 
thanks, I was hoping that I could use all the other parts from the other cover when I put the ported cover on. I guess I'll have to wait and see when I get the ported cover.
 
Kansas 4010 got the wrong cover. I believe there were two for the entire range. One for the short filter (AR75603), and one for the longer filter (AR94510) Both same diameter, so should interchange (with longer bolt).
 
You're right, of course, Tx Jim, but reading Kansas 4010's post, it sounds like he was given the taller cover for the AR94510 filter. The correct one for his 4010 would not have been "a lot taller".

On a tractor such as as a 4040 that uses AR94510 hyd filter a spacer pipe part# R66068 is required to use a ported filter cover. I personally have never seen a taller/longer ported filter cover than a T31170 that doesn't mean one isn't available from JD.

Your post about a standard cover with a spacer sounds right to me. I've been out of the biz a number of years now, and going on memory, so happy to defer to your probably more recent experience. Last thing I want to do is support confusion in the discussion.

Kansas 4010- Help us settle this. Do you have a single "tall" cover, or a shortie with a spacer?
