51 A pulley clutch face

Hello, I have a pulley with some heavy rust pitting on the clutch face. Looks like it sat with water in it for a long time. I just bought this to replace mine because of a
chunk knocked out of the rim. I can't seem to find any specs as to how much you can machine off the face to clean it up. Any help would be
very much appreciated.

Thanks

take it back and get a good one if you machine out cast from inside the drive gear moves out from first red gear may give trob.
also brg will not line up on inner race if you can,t find a good one email me i have one

Can't alter the tolerances in these clutches too much or the clutch will act "wore out" even with new parts.

If you use that pulley as is, even with sandblasting, chances are you will have a jumpy clutch. If It all possible, you may be able to get 10 thou machined off, but more than likely, the surface is rusted deeper.
