30 series dimensions

Anyone with a 530, 630 or 730 have a tape measure handy? I'm trying to find some dimensions on these models. The factory literature gives the major dimensions but I'm trying to find the height to the highest point of the hood (probably to the radiator cap) rather than overall height to top of muffler that they list. Can anyone give me those heights (on a tractor with correct wheels and tires)?

Also, according to the factory dimensions I'm seeing that a 730 is approximately a foot shorter in length than a 3020! Is that possible?

Height to radiator:
530=59.9 inches
630=66 inches
730=88.25 inches overall, guess that is to top of muffler. I think the muffler is about 22". That would make it about 66.25. It is about the same height as the 630, but wider.

Thanks, CLW. Can anyone explain why JD listed the 630's overall length as being [i:70d9ba35a3]longer[/i:70d9ba35a3] than the 730? Doesn't seem right to me.

Both my books say the 630 and 730 are 135.25" long. What do you have for lengths? In your first post you ask about the 730 being a foot shorter than the 3020. The 4 cylinder engine in the 3020 would make it longer. Plus they were different frames with different clutch and transmissions. Just not the same tractor at all.

My reprints of the 30 series literature (from Two Cylinder Club) shows:
530: 132.75"
630: 139"
730: 135.25"

Seems out of whack to me.

Yes, I realize the 3020 is a completely different tractor with a different layout. I guess I just always think of a 730 as being a big, hulking tractor while I think of a 3020 as a medium-size model (for it's time). I was surprised to learn that a 3020 is about 15" longer and a few inches wider, too. I just always assumed a 730 would be physically bigger. Whodathunk?
