pulled it the first time yesterday and it was awsome pulled 2nd gear all day 5500-6500 3 classes spun out in first 2 then run outta snot at 230 feet in the 6500 didnt get any ribbons but had a blast i used to run outta power in the 5500 class all i done to it was rockers and the flywheel so im impressed track was extremely dry and hard 2 weeks and i got another pull so we will see what happens there alot different track thanks

Did you perhaps adjust the timing or carb. ? It is VERY easy to gain or loose power in this area.

So what exactly do you think the flywheel did for you? We've had this discussion before with someone. Flywheels dont make power. The larger the flywheel the larger the parasitic losses.

nope didnt touch anything else other than the sheet metal i think the flywheel helped get me through a couple of tough spots the way i look at it its harder to get it turning but its also harder to slow it down so it gives a little more momentum to get through the tough spots i know some people dissagree but im trying it what do i have to loose but time and a few hooks that r for fun anyway were not running race cars here where you need to accelerate out of a corner these machine pulls where you get your speed up early when things are easy then try to keep the momentum i think it will help obviasly it dont hurt kinda the same theory as big tires and faster gears imo ill post after next pull for anyone interested in knowing never hurts to know and we have all been proven wrong at some point in our lives

The test would be to try it on the dyno with both flywheels with no other changes. You wont see any benfit even in the short run. The track is not a good test as there are numerous variables. When you have more than one variable you cant come to a credible conclusion.

Well if that works so good i think i will put a model R flywheel i have on my 49 b and just tear the class up no need to by any thing bigger Kent
