51 A rockshaft

Hello all. I"m re-installing the rockshafts on my late A and was wondering how much tension should be on the spring? Looks like if the arrow on the shaft is at the arrow on the end cap I have to turn the cap about 1/4 turn to line up the bolts. Does that sound right?

Yes, that sounds right. Just did a 48 and 49 model A hydraulic rebuild. After you get the rockshafts in, slide the cap with spring in to place, jiggle it to make sure spring end is in the inner hole. I then used a pipe wrench to turn the cap, (pushing down, or counter clockwise) it should turn about 1/4 of a turn, then put in cap screws. Should be failproof because cap holes only line up when positioned correctly.
