5083 John Deere

What is a 5083? I've not heard of that one here in the US. What country is it in? Is the model number 5083 correct?

Looks like in the sizes above 75 HP Deere may have updated the previous Mexican built economy models 6403 and 6603 into the 5E limited.

The 6D's maybe Mexican built versions of the 6000 thirty series econo Mannheim tractors?

The 5000 series was something Deere never got right. Modern management laked the brains and honour the old Deere executives in the early 1960's had. Back in the early 60's Deere said, "oops the 1010 and 2010 are duds, lets replace them". 1990's & 2000's executive kept trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear with the 5000's. Deere should have reassembled the old 55 series Mannheim production line and used the new Power Tech engines somewhere.Instead of sticking with the Agusta 5000's.

The 5D/5E models look like east Indian built tractors assembled in Agusta.

Looks like Deere has in order to keep the price down to hold a place in the North American market. They had to shift production to cheaper out of country locations.
Deere just announced closing the Welland Ontario plant and is moving Gator and loader manufacturing to Wisconsin and Mexico.
