unsticking a 435 clutch

I have not started or moved my 435 for6-8 months. It started right up but I can't put it in gear. The clutch discs are apparently stuck together. If I shut it off then put in gear and start tractor it will take right off. I put it in first gear, started tractor at idle and applied the brakes hard but that didn't help anything. It has been working fine. What do you suggest? Thanks

Do the same thing but in the top gear. That takes the most torque at the clutch. First gear takes the least torque at the clutch. Then when the clutch plate breaks loose you can slip it a bit to polish things. You might want to plan to block the clutch pedal down when not in use in the future.

just your tractors way of getting back at you for leaving her alone so long. i had to remove the dust cover on a ford truck once and drive a putty knife inbetween the clutch and fly wheel to break it loose. don't know if you can do that or not on a tractor

I have heard a few fellows on here suggest strapping/tying the clutch pedal down in the depressed position and let the engine run for a couple of hours(with transmission in neutral).............apparently the vibration will somtimes free the stuck pressure plate/clutch disc..............it can't hurt to try, all you'll be out is the fuel..........
