unstyled B valve timing

need refreshed on the process of timing the valves on unstyled B. Where to position the flywheel to time the valves, etc..

Most all two-cylinder (at least the letter series) are the same. See you flywheel for the inscription, LH EXHAUST OPEN. That's the key.

I assume the valve cover is off.

Verify the LH exhaust valve tappet setting is @ 0.020-inch.

Slowly rotate flywheel until the L.H. Exhaust Valve tappet gap has just went from your 0.020-inch to ZERO. (At this point, the L.H. Exhasut Valve is about to be opened). STOP TURNING FLYWHEEL!

At this point, the LH EXHAUST OPEN flywheel mark should be at 3:00 o'clock +/- 1 inch. (When I say 3:00 o'clock, I mean the flywheel mark should align with the index mark on gear case that you normally use for magneto timing). (PatB)
