Having trouble locating a parts break down for 1450 5 bottom plow for my 4320 JD.

Looking to replace all of the wear parts. The landsides and frogs are alll. Is this common?

My research shows model 1450 was manufactured from '69-'78

Landslides can be built up from old plow points. Just weld them on over the old ones. As for shins you can put the front portion os the mold board on over the front edge for a shin. Depending on what dirt you have you can even weld an old point right over the one on there setting it out about an inch and down about an inch or a bit more. That was the way I used up a lot of old wear parts without having to stumble over them in the iron pile. The rest got junked or used some other way. OLd grader blade pieces will make landslide pieces pretty good too. Wear parts for any tillage equipment has gotten ridiculous the last five or ten years.

"The landsides and frogs are all..." All what?

Are you sure the FROGS are all... whatever? The frog is the underlying framework that all the wear parts bolt to. If the frogs are worn out, you may as well find a different plow.

Shares, landsides, and shins commonly need to be replaced. They are in the most direct contact with the dirt and receive the most wear. Depending on your ground and how many acres you cover that could be anywhere from once every few years to multiple times per plowing season.

Moldboard plow design in the US pretty much stopped in the mid-late 1960's. So it's likely that what you have are standard "John Deere" bottoms and all you really need to know is the width of cut of each bottom. You can go to the Deere dealer and get shares, landsides, shins and bolts over the counter.

I just finished getting my 3 point back together and am going to lift the plow up to check the frogs. I have found some decent used ones I can replace with.

If you go to John Deere's web site, parts lookup, then type in plow bottoms it will list a lot of the moldbords used. If you can find a number on yours it would really help. Plow bottoms are listed separate from the plows. So a 1450 parts lookup won't have the bottoms listed. You need to look it up by the bottom you have. Wear parts are high. You may want to look at getting one that doesn't need much, as it would probably be cheaper. I just found some landsides for my Case CHT trailer plow from CaseIH and their $81.+ per. That's 3 times the price of landsides for say a 700, 710 & 720 IH. There are no after market being made anymore, not for this one anyway.

Thank you for the help on looking the parts up. I am pretty good on deeres website. I was wondering the moldboard points and wear material were not showing up. Thanks!

Not a problem. Seems like all makes do it that way. Looks like a 1450 was made from 71-74, so that narrows up the search considerably. Then cutting width cuts that number to just a few.
