Cherokee Series 1620 Post Pounder

I picked up this implement at auction. It's old and some of the hoses needed to be replaced. I think it is so old, these may not be the original hoses. I'm looking for a manual or schematic for this, but I believe the manufacturer has been out of business for a while as my searches don't turn them up. I'm curious if anyone might be able to tell me the size of hoses used on the ram intake and output sides? The pounder raises but when the pressure is let off I expect it to free fall, but it is falling at a controlled rate making me believe the hose ID on that side is too small. Thanks

You should be able to remove the old hoses and use for size then it would need a return back to the reservoir or a single acting valve to make it drop fast enough unless it has a trip like a clutch that would let it drop.

Thank you Caterpillar guy. After replacing the hoses with no change in results and on further inspection I see the mounting plate for the hydraulic controller has a set of unused holes drilled into it. This makes me think this isn't the original controller and that this one may not have the free float capacity to allow the fluid to surge back to the reservoir when the pounder sled drops which would allow a free falling pound action. However, you mention a trip like a clutch. Are you talking about a trip on the valve?

Thanks for your time.

Never saw a post pounder of any make. But the threads where the hose screw into will tell you sizes of hose to use. And trip would to release the pounder just as if you droped it out of your hands.
