Can someone identify this sickle mower

I just got a sickle mower but it's pretty old and the only thing I can find to identify it is the ih logo, I've done some research but haven't found anything that resembles it. It's got 1 wheel on the back and a 2 point hookup by the looks of it. [/img:f16ce7d1e8]

Welcome to the forums.

Not always, but in many cases new users have to have 5 or more posts on record before the site lets them post pictures (or links), due to site spam filters. Another option is to go down to the Site Comments Forum and ask YT Support for permission to post prior to that. You can try going down to the Test Forum and making several posts there to get your post count up, trying to attach your pictures to each post. That may work after you make several posts. Then make your post here again. It may not work immediately after you get past the 5 posts, if not, you might try logging out and back in at that point. There is a size limit as well, I think it is a total of 7mb per post (be it one picture or the total of several). Some pictures (often taken with phones) are too large and have to be reduced before they will post.

My uncle had a IHC mower with 1 wheel, he had it on his H and M, take a guard off and take it to town and see if you get one to match, thats what you might need for parts, just guessing !!

I can think of at least 3 models of semi-mount mowers with the one wheel but all were drawbar mount but the fast hitch I suppose could be either a farmer mod or factory? First thing to identify is does it have a pitman or is in a pitman less type of mower? On that type it would be a newer model that I am not faimular with.

I suppose it could be drawbar mounted I just assumed it was a 2 point hook up but all it is is 2 arm that come out and are just flat steel with a hole in it so maybe that could be bolt directly to the tractor instead of being a 2 point

Can't see it well enough but it does look a bit like the A-16 that goes to the Farmall A tractors. I have one on my BA Farmall

It is an IH mower from the '50s. I don't know rhe model. My dad had one in the UK that had a plate that bolted on under
the belly of the tractor. My brother said it was a real pain to hook up. I don't remember if it could be unhooked leaving
the plate but it doesn't really matter now!
I now have one here in Canada that is a two point hitch like the photo. It is
identical to my dad's mower apart from the hitching method. Buy the pins and if you have stabiliser bars it will work
fine. I cut three or four acres every year with an MF35.

Possibly part of the hitch missing. But any semi-mount mower will have a tail wheel because the hitch only holds the front of mower to tractor and does NOT carry the rest of the mower. That tail wheel is what carries the back end of the mower and the hitch will flex so the nower will follow ground countour as in crossing waterways and other things like hills and vallys. I cannot see the hitch in the pictures to tell you what you have. Need picture without the loader or any thing else in picture, preferably on bare concrete driveway as any weeds mower is setting on or even gravel will hide the parts we need to see. Take clear pictur of whole mower, does not have to include top of cutter bar if in transport position but aquare deom front, both sides and back end of mower.Close up pictures do not show all details we need. I am guessing either a 25 or if I rember correctly 27 mower. Does it have a hand lever to raise bar for transport or a hydrolic cylinder or some other way to put bar in transport position. Some mowers have a V in the model number as in vertical that is a different type of drive.

Pictures are too dark and In one I can see what looks like some grass sticking up but what ever it is setting on looks loike a carpet out ofhouse and that pattern hides detail. And not full view does not give details needed.
