JD8200 grain drill

Are the cups in question broken and drop down away from the shaft? Looking at my 8300 drill new cups will come from the center outward. If the old broken cups will not drop then all affected cups will need to be unbolted and slid to the center. Once clear then slide newer cups in then followed by older cups. I had to do the same job on a 450 drill where it is only open on the end and had to unbolt nearly all the cups to do the job. Not a bad job but takes up time. I think JD recommends undoing the whole shaft including the drive end but I think you do not need to do that as it looks like there is enough clearance. You will know in a jiffy.

Reason for not wanting to remove shaft is extra work in removing drive gear and bearing. Also, was told shaft loses straightness over time making reinstalling into new cups difficult. For anybody working on a 450 drill the center coupler needs to be undone so enough clearance can be had on the center or end. Forgot about that as it has been a while until I looked at the 450 just now.
