Case 3450 round baler

Anyone have one of these? Whats the pros and cons of them? What to look at when looking at one? We have located one we want to go look at maybe and dont know anything about them

That is the same baler as the NI 484. The big sprocket on the right side with the 80 chain. IF the spline wiggles it is getting bad look at all the splined hubs on chain sprockets. If loose are in need of replacement now or soon depending on how loose. They are a soft center bale. If the belts look worn it will need new belst and are endless. If you can't get new endless belts don't buy it. We have had the 484 NI baler for 20 years or more and have had the big sprocket I talk of so loose it would run the chain off. The roller right in front the door opens on broke and had a new one made for it with heavier tube. Replaced all the bearings over the years and new belts for the bottom, front, and needs new ones for the top and back. Bearings are expensive for it at over 20or 30 dollars per bearing might even be more now. I would look for a newer baler with better system. they worked good and would bale a lot of hay in a day. They are getting old and some parts are getting harder to find. Agco will have some since they are the same baler as the NI 484. Those balers were made in the late 1980's or early 90's so 30-40 years old now. Those were the problems with our NI baler. Like I said we have had it for many years at least 20 I'm looking for a newer better baler at this time just not in my price range.

Thank you. My son who is 15 is looking for a round baler to add to his little hay business. He has a 224t square baler a NH disc mower 2 NH 56 rakes and a Massey 165 gas. All bought and paid for by him. We are going to an auction this weekend after a Massey 175 diesel and are looking for a smaller round baler that he can do about 30 acres on right now. He has some people wanting the smaller bales to feed to goats and a few calves that have compact tractors that they can use to set the bales. Honestly we liked the low profile of this baler because it would fit in the lean to and would be under cover. Still looking just hope to have something by next hay season
