John Deere 46a loader

I have a John Deere 3010 with a 46a
loader, my lift capacity maxes at about
1300 pounds.

What I was wondering is if I mount a model
48 or even a 148, will that increase my
lift capacity?

If not is there something I can do too
boost my lift capacity?

Or would it be bad for the tractor to lift
more than that?

Lot of questions. Thanks in advance.

What's your tractors hyd stand-by pressure? I'd set it at 2350 psi if not already there. 46A offered 2-1/4'' or 2-1/2'' diameter lift cylinders. I think model 148 has 2-1/2'' dia. lift cylinders. Larger diameter cylinder with same hyd pressure will have more lift capacity.

You should be able to lift more with your 46a. You could have a valve with a blown seal or maybe cylinders with an internal leak. Tom

Acquire a 5000 # gauge then attach a male hyd tip to gauge, insert male hyd tip in your tractor's hyd breakaway coupler then move scv control handle the correct direction to pressurize the gauge. Take notice of pressure. If pressure is below 2350 psi loosen jam nut on stroke control valve screw under the bottom of frt hyd pump. Turn screw CW direction until correct pressure is attained then turn lock nut CW direction to lock screw in place.

WOW Thanks, You oughta right manuals.

Cause that was clearer and more concise
than any manual I have read in the past
couple years.
