1219 haybine shaft repair

Noticed a vibration on turns. Upon inspection I found that the hex power shaft is worn at the slide, just in front of the slip clutch. I
would post a picture of the parts diagram if I knew how.
I was thinking on cutting the hex shaft collar and shaft off and welding a new ones in place. Does anybody have a good source to find a
collar for this? or other suggestion to repair?

Think the problem is at the other end of the shaft at the tractor.
Do you have the drawbar extension installed? Is the drawbar set at the proper dimension dor 540 rpm?

Ditto what Roger stated.
I suggest to closely inspect tractor telescoping pto shaft for wear & correct drawbar dimension from end of tractor pto shaft. I've never seen a hex female hole repair sleeve for sale but have seen the sleeve for sale with female square & rectangular hole.

We've had our 1219 since the mid 80's bought new. It doesn't vibrate or any of that. Take a look at the back end by the slip clutch. We had ours break off there in the weld. We just cleaned it up and put back on to shaft end and rewelded. Been fine since. I would suspect that end or your steady bearing is bad or geometry at the front end is off. Have you checked the roll shafts for tight in the bearings. I need to get ours out and weld up then turn down to fit the bearings again. That has been a smooth running machine with very few problems.

For got to say that slip joint needs to be greased everyday. it moves with ever bump the cutterbar goes over. Watch it sometime as you drive.

If you are referring to the hitch that goes over draw bar with pin that sticks up, yes.
I will double check the shaft closest to tractor again, but the hex slip i can move up and down it is a very loose fit.

Can videos be posted on here?

Vibration on turns is caused by the two universals at the tractor end. The universal at the slip clutch doesn't change during turns.

(quoted from post at 18:40:38 09/29/22) Vibration on turns is caused by the two universals at the tractor end. The universal at the slip clutch doesn't change during turns.

I rechecked the both universal joints at tractor end, no binding or worn out joints. Draw bar was set at 16 inches from pto end to hole in drawbar, book shows 14 inches. Maybe 2 inches caused issue

Tractor drawbar set 2'' too long will cause telescoping pto shaft between tractor & Mo-Co to vibrate when turning sharp corners when pto is operating.
