I didn't want to hijack the post below, but what is the proper way to determine the cut width on these plows ? Oldest son bought one recently that he's going to rehab this winter. We think it's a 14 inch cut. Another thing is how is the best way to remove the rims from the plow as it needs a full set of tires installed while in the process of cleaning it up to paint.

Center to center of beams. And don't rember ever having a wheel off mine. On line parts book might help.

I agree with Leroy to measure MB plow frame for bottom plow shear cutting width measure center to center or outside to opposite outside of adjoining frames that are bolted front to rear.

To remove furrow rim/wheel one needs to remove 3 nuts from carriage bolts(item 9) then remove cap(item 3) then remove pin(item 6) then remove & sleeve(item 7). Wheel should come off. Removal of land wheel is a similar procedure.

(quoted from post at 12:20:18 09/14/22) center to center, or edge to edge it's the same thing !!

Edge to edge should be clarified by stating outside edge to same location outside edge on next frame not edge to edge between frames.

That is why use center to center on this plow, others does not work like that and the 44 2 bottom is one that does not wotk just by beam measurement.

The left edge of one beam measured square across to the left edge of the next beam. If you just say edge to edge folk will measure the space between beams leaving out the width of one beam....

Some plows dont have things lined up well to do this measurement so have to be careful as it irks most of the time. More of an issue with new plows with angled castings and such....

Thank you everyone for the replies. Sorry it took me so long to post back, but it's been a very hectic time trying to finish up harvesting some of the crops. I finally got a moment to look at this plow further and it turns out to be a 16 inch bottom plow. It might make the Farmall 300 snort a little once hitched up. Lol. The parts breakdown sure helps make sense of how to remove the rims now. Getting them cleaned up, painted, and a set of tires will be top priority.

My ground it would only have handled 2-16 inch bottoms, that size for me would have required nothing less than a 450.
