grain elevator

This is my first time on this site, my question is about an old grain elevator, its a paddle chain type, I think its a john deere but has blue paint, did john deere use blue. I am putting together a horse drawn equipment museum, an would like to date some of my stuff.
Thanks Scoop

Not much interest in elevators since most people don't know what they are. A picture would help???? I have seen a couple wood ones and a few metal elevators but dont recall any paint on them. Mostly you see
them still up in corn cribs until the crib falls down and then it is all over. Valmont, Sears Roebuck, Montgomery Wards sold them and maybe a lots of other places??? The farm shows always have one to look at'

John Deere were green, McCurdy were red, Case were orange. A lot of different makes were galvanised. And if things have not changed in the past 2 years they are in big demand and a 40' will retail at over $400. Don't make any difference if PTO driven or engine driven. I have bought and pulled them for 50+ miles to get for dealer I bought machinery for. Mostly used for small square hay bales.

Before my time, the local Case dealer sold Sam Mulkey elevators. They were dark green. Little Giant were galvanized and orange.
New Holland were galvanized and red (Smoker?) That's all I recall.
