Pto lock - what am I overlooking?

So I got the lock pin to move freely but
the spring return is broken. I'd like to
fix it but I can't see how to get the pin
out. No obvious snap ring, retaining pin,
or straking. So, how does this come
apart? Is that a retaining ring in the
final pic?

If that's the kind I think it is, just put a punch in the hole and drive it on out. It should be longer and come out that hole and have a small snap ring or C clip on it.

Looks like the end was peened over a little, but it should punch out. I have gutted and repaired several. The local Tractor Supply has a few repair kits, but I found a good selection online at Weasler dot com, do a search for yoke repair kits.

You guys are spot on. I do believe it was straked in. The punch i have got it mostly out but now I need a slightly longer punch; or a bolt. I want it in my hand when I get a repair kit.
Thanks much.

To fix these, rather than finding/buying the right parts, I have just drilled the right size whole all the way through, and put a bolt in it for a locking device.

I was really close to that, but I have a genetic defect that drives me to understand how things are built and how they work. Next trip by TSC I'll get the kit and likely only use the spring.

Same way. That and the belief I can fix anything drives my wife nuts.
