What brand is this digger

I picked this up today. Never seen one before. On the wheel Hubs there is an R prefix in the casting part number. Could it be a Deere?

Looks more like something either cobbled up or was built to apply Anhydrous ammonia with. The shanks look like ones we used for that except for the end being bent to fit the diamond shape.

i have seen one of those before and it was deere. i see it has the french and hecht wheels on it. possible it is but cant say for sure.

(quoted from post at 16:58:41 11/27/21) why u guys calling it a digger? thought it was a cultivator.

LOL! We call it a cultivator too here in Iowa but I know the western farmers call it a digger. It looks like a tool for western soils to me. I plan to try it out in our heavy black Iowa soil just to see what it will do. I also plan to have it at our local threshing show next August for anyone to hook up to if they want to blow out the carbon in their tractor. Replacing that left wheel will be a test of patience the way it looks. I havent figured out how to get it off yet.

might need to unbolt the axle at the top. cant see the inside tire view though for a better idea.

Have a Dempster digger like that...have to look tomorrow to see if it has spoke wheels. Pulled one like it over summer fallow acres every
summer when I was a kid.

That heavy round rod that comes out, down and then back into the wheel appears to be one piece. It looks to me like those two square headed bolts on top come out and the one bolt in the lift rod comes out. The wheel is then removed from underneath the frame. The tires show almost no wear but the weather was not kind to them.

What color is or was the Dempster? This thing has a little green paint in a few sheltered spots. Maybe Dempster made it for Deere?

I am pretty sure it is a Dempster. We had one like that when I was a kid. The spoked wheels, the axle and how the wheels are attached under the frame, the round axle frame, the trip lever for a clutch on the left wheel and the crank for depth adjustment all are Dempster looking characteristics.

That crank and crank bracket sure look like an Oliver setup to me, but I have no real info.
