John Deere 235 disk

Would like to know if anyone has a 235 Standard, Regular or DuraCushion center fold disk, 14'3 or 18'6 foot widths. My father in law built these from 1972 to 1985 in Moline at JD plow and planter factory. His welder number was 80 that he stamped on the disk. I asked where but he could not remember he said since he had been retired for 30 years, but he thought it should be on the top somewhere maybe hitch or top of disk frame. My question is if you have one and have time to look for a 80 stamped on it. If anyone has one and still use it would like to get pictures to give to my father in law. Thanks

I think it is from the late 70s. It has black scraper frames, as opposed to the earlier yellow ones.

I remember when disk frames changed from yellow to black but I don't remember the year it happened. In brief search of parts catalog I didn't locate reference to yellow or black disk assemblies.

I talked to him yesterday and he said he could not remember if he did or not. He said they usually just got build sheets with no model number. But his stamp was 80 and said would be on top of the frame or on the tongue some where on top.

Okay- I looked ours over yesterday and couldn't see any numbers stamped. However, now I'll check those areas over closer as soon as it stops raining here in northeastern SD. Did each welder put their own stamp on their work?
