Brillion Seeder

Good afternoon!
Is anyone familiar with this seeder?

I have used it a couple of times after puchasing it but am not sure of the " metering" levers and numbers on the back. Are they telling me pounds per acre or bushels per acre of seed? And if anyone knows the model number that'd be great!
Thanks for any help.
Kenny

You need the seed chart to convert the number to a seed rate for the type of seed you are using.

I bet you find a manual here under Brillion that is pretty close.

Dont put a lot of trust in the recommended seed
chart settings. The actual output can vary a lot. Pre
measure your seed and pre measure a four or five
acre area to see what your actual output is and make
any necessary adjustments. Consider not filling
hoppers full as output will be less due to settling of
the seed. On the small seed hopper measure the
width of the seed opening when you are satisfied
with the output and make yourself a note for future
seeding of the same kind of seed. The small seed
opening is really tough to get set just right which is
the reason to make note of a known opening. My
experience is about the time I get output adjusted to
my desired output I am about done seeding!

Charlie, Its all wrapped up for the winter, Sorry. What did you need? maybe I can describe it?
Thanks,
Kenny

(quoted from post at 06:11:58 09/18/21) Are they the straight flow brome boxes with the cogs or do they have the agitators?

The front has little "gears" under openings that adjust. The rears have "squirrel cages" that rotate over openings that adjust.

I also have the transport wheels for this. Is there an "easy" way putting them on? Or, what is the correct way of putting them on?
I put them on but it was a battle. I won, but it went 12 rounds.
Thanks again for all the help!

Regarding the transport wheels. My neighbor had one. He drove it so one side was hanging over a
ditch and put that side wheel on. Then turned it around so the other side was hanging over the
ditch and put that side on. Then off he went on the transport wheels. Taking them off was the
reverse of the above.

The decal Hay maker posted will get you where you need to be with a little adjustment. The settings for the big box will be the back on yours. The small box setting will be the brome box on the front. You can drop the A prefix and just use the number. The adjuster was changed in latter years and the A prefix was added. Good Luck.

When I needed to put transport wheels on, I would put a 6 cedar post in front, drive up on it and change the wheel off the ground. repeat
for other side

I have a Brillion seeder which is a good machine. I don't trust the chart so I've experimented with the settings. I seed orchard middles with tall fescue which is a wonderful, durable turf
and will take a lot of abuse. I want a strong stand which will make a sure-fired stand the next season after an August or September seeding. I use a full-open setting and overlap 50%. Best
I can say is start with a determined amount of seed in the hopper and see how much ground you cover and you will know your seeding rate at that setting. Then compare that to the
recommendation.
