999 John Deere Planter

Can someone please tell me how the automatic markers work on a 999 Planter. I can see where the rope runs through the eyelets and ties to the
markers but I cant see how they would be automatic. Thanks, Mark

First planter I ever used was a 999 that we cut off front castor for horses and adapted to 3 pt on a Ford Jubilee narrowed up to wheel track plant.Turning short loosens the rope letting the outside marker fall down and engage ,pulling up the inside one.
