Syracuse Chilled Plow

I bought one at a flea market. Other than the handles being weathered to the point of being unusable, it's in decent enough shape. The writing on the back of the mold board is still fairly clear. Patent number, dates, etc. Problem is, it says it's a model 4. There's also a 4WB on the beam. I am going to restore it but can't seem to find any info on this particular model. Any ideas?

A John Deere product. There are, or were, a couple of books out there on old plows. One by Lynn Miller, one or 2 by a guy named King. Might look on ABE or Ebay for the books.

I did notice that Deere had a hand in them
one way or another, apparently when Deere
ran out of raw materials. Mine has a guide
wheel at the end of the beam right behind
the harness ring.

The Syracuse Chilled Plow Company used Oliver's patented chilled plow process without paying a royalty. John Deere bought Syracuse
to have a plow to sell he ran out of saw blades to bend, then continued to sponge off Oliver's patent.
