Posting this again because I don't see my original anywhere in the implement alley forum, if i'm mistaken and it already exist please forgive me.
Problem:
I need to remove the axle nut on a disc axle to replace a broken disk. Cannot budge the nut but noticed today what looks like a pin (ie locking pin?) in one of the sides of the nut. Just wondering if my assumption is correct before i start more drastic actions to remove the nut. My belief is also driven by similar spots on 2 other axle nuts on different gangs, my only assumption so far is that these are some sort of set screws to keep the axle nut from backing of the axle. I've uploaded a photo of the nut I can't remove, in it you can see the spot on the nut I'm talking about ... notice in the photo that this nut looks to have a round pin driven in possibly to replace what was once some sort of set-set screw or thread-locking device.
This is a King TF1 disc in case that matters.
Thanks for any help,
Roger
