Just run across a nice complete
International model 251 planter.
Only problem is that it is a 3 pt
hitch and intend to pull it with a
fast hitch Farmall 140. I could make
a single prong fast hitch for it,
but would like to keep it as
original as possible. Does anyone
have or know where one could be
purchased ?
 
Before getting too invested in this project you may want to check with your CIH dealer regarding parts availability. I had a chance at a late 251 20+ years ago. My local parts man advised me to keep looking. He said the 251 is kind of an orphan in that it shares few parts with newer or more popular models.
 
I know what you're saying. It's in really good condition. I think it will be a good planter for the 5 acres worth that my son is tending. Seems like CIH has taken the notion of if it's older than 10 years old, there is no need to offer any kind of parts support for it.
 
I have a fast hitch one point adapter to a 3 point hitch and the 3 point planter will hook right up......send an email to 321main @ gmail.com and request a picture and I will send you a picture of it......where are you located?
