Krause 208 and 408 discs, disc sizing for Farmall 706

Hi,
I currently have a 208 Krause disc. I can't seem to find any docs on it but looking. It's needing new bearings on at least 2 of the disc gangs, and missing a couple of scrapers, and in general each gang probably needs rebuilt to remove bad/broken/loose fitting coulter wheels. This is about an 8 or 10 foot tandem disc. The tractor I'm pulling it with is a lot bigger, a 1963 Farmall 706. I was looking at auctions, saw a Krause 408, looked identical to my 208. Was curious if anyone knows the differences between the 208 and 408, and what size for a tandem disc would be about right for the 706 without taxing it too much?

Thanks, Bryant

Should pull a 14 foot tandem fine . I pull a 14 foot ih 370 with a roller with my 3020 powershift

A lot of difference between pulling a disc on stubble ground working up for soybeans the following year and worked ground like plowed ground. I used to pull a 20tf 470 with an 806 on plowed ground without much trouble. For your 706I would limit it to about 12-14 ft all depends on if you are also going to pull a packer or something behind it or just the disc. Just a disc could probably go to 16 ft. We have an old JD disc you adjust the gang angle with the notches in the tongue and used to pull it with a Massey Harris 44 on plowed ground and it did fine as I remember from 50 years ago, it is 12 ft.
