New Idea 217 manure spreader gearbox oil

I believe that is either 2050 or2060 been a long time since we used ours. Gearbox is just transmission oil 90 wt. look at the spindles where they are bolted in. We had the bolt break and come out one time. The holes get worn and sloppy then bolt is holding the inside weight and breaks.

I bought an N model JD well past its prime. TSC had the ladder chain that had a few links missing and the cross bar angle that was bent was just a piece of 1 angle iron. Gearbox used 90W gear oil. It is a 1960's vintage best I can tell and the tires are original best I can tell. They are horribly cracked but the the tread is about 90%, tubes are intact and hold air for years without needing more....amazing. Everything else seems to be working and OEM.

A great use for it is in the fall when I rake up leaves, I have a couple of DR leaf vacs and I blow them into the the spreader and take them out and scatter them on hay patches. When it's time for steel, I incorporate them for humus.

So, in answering your question, TSC might have what you need...depending.
