vermeer 505 super i idler bouncing?

other day when bailing could hear a popping sound once my bale got to about 3-4ft diameter, got out and looked while it was still running and the idler was raising up so far and then popping and going back down to where it should be.

the sprocket was wore decent bit and bearings was dry so i changed that with spare i had and made no difference.

i have some chain now that i am going to replace, if that doesnt fix it do yall have any more ideas?

Likely a combination of wear in the chain and all 3 sprockets. Need to install 3 new sprockets with the new chain. Chain wear increases chain pitch which wears the sprockets. New chain will run rough and get accelerated wear from worn sprockets. That's my thoughts on this, others may vary.
