Case IH 8420 baler (Hesston 530) Belt tracking problem

New belts in 2011. The right belt, looking from rear, rubs against the gear sprocket on one of the arms that carry the belts. Which eventually wears the lacing pin, and belt starts coming apart. Anyone have a solution?? Been an ongoing problem. Belt on left also is up tight against sprocket thing, but doesn't seem to wear. Other belts tracking OK, so don't want to change entire tracking. Thanks

as that belt done this since 2011? Has it had a field repair and start doing it after?

I have two of those balers and maintain three more for other people. The only sprocket thing I can think of that might contact the right belt would be the 'sprocket' on the end of one of the front rollers that makes an piece of 5/16" rod rattle when the chamber starts getting over full. I don't know of any sprocket that the far left side belt would come into contact with.

Have any of the belts been cut off and relaced since you put them on in 2011? Can you post photos of where they are rubbing?

Here is a photo. I think this is the wheel that hits a rod for full bale. The belt rubs against it, wearing out edge, and pin. For some reason our baler has this wheel on both ends of that roller. Husband has been messing with it for days, looks like we are stuck with situation. Thanks for any ideas though. (late response - couldn't upload my photo/message)

Id check if the belt was laced square first, but if that seems okay try flipping the belt and see if it tracks the other way.

Hi there, I'm probably doing this wrong as this is my first time posting on here, but I also have a Case 8420 round baler and am wondering if you (since you seem very familiar with this baler) or anyone else could point me towards help for replacing belts? Both my outside belts have done the same thing as the OG poster's and I'm replacing them now but struggling to get enough tension off to connect the ends. I'm sure there's a trick to this I just don't know about.

Do you have the manual? There's steps in there on how to take the tension off, no struggling involved. Open the back. Open up side doors, find the 2 pins that you put into stops, so that you let the back down a little and the pins hold it. Hard to tell in words. In manual on page 48! p.s. we never found a solution to side belts rubbing...
