I am needing a heavy but narrow disk that will really cut. I like the look of the Athens and just wondering if they are as good as they look, and if anyone has one for sale.

I have the smallest size Athens 131 and like it. Cuts great but not the best at leveling or maybe I just have never got it adjusted just right. Tom

I can't say about that model, but based on my experience I'd say you'd be OK. I had a 14' transport disc we must have used for 15 years without issue. I really liked the discs/gangs. Bearings were very heavy greaseable type, and I would grease them once a year, before parking it for the winter. So then I got a 25'-26' model, and added rolling baskets. Unfortunately Athens didn't make the leveling linkage much heavier than they had on the smaller disc, and I had trouble with it. Baskets didn't help that any. But, again, the discs/gangs were fine.

So I went into the house and wrote him a check for $500 and bought them myself and said now they are mine. He had bought them about five years before thinking that he was going to restore them himself. After five years sitting in the barn, he changed h
