Couple bearings went out on
the input shaft. On
transmission .. . Backed it
up on ramps and dropped
the gearbox . . Not a
terrible job still dont
wanna do it everyday
though.. chase down bearings
tommorow and back together
. Hopefully with enough time
to grind feed ...
 
used to have one of those units held up real well overall whe consider did 5 to six loads a day lots time. wew had over 500 fat cattle, hogs, and over 300 hd sheep. spent alot time making feed. i do miss the gattle today but not all the frozen water issues and debt. trying to get on ss now
 
I had a Gehl 65. Seems like the gear box was the weak spot on that one. I must have had it out of there at least three times.
 
That little 65 mx mill was the first one i ever used as a young man, i was impressed, but didn't care for the dealer, ended up buying a Arts way, the dealer eventually got locked down by the IRS or a Bankruptcy judge or some thing, with the customers machinery in there, Locked up for weeks! and he never went to jail !!!
 
On our Gehl 95 it broke the gearbox and there are no new ones to be found. Some one pointed us to a Gehl 135 with a bad blower shaft. We then located a good gearbox of a Gehl 95 that was rusted out. Hooray!
 
I had a JD 400 Mixer for a long time. The guy that had before me put a new gear box on it and said it was really a big job. The box started leaking and wobbling some. JD dealer said no parts available for it. I decided to sell it and got a Artsway 425 that manufacture said they still have parts for it. Good luck with your Gehl, sounds like you got a handle on it.
