New Holland 610 Corn Chopper PTO

I recently purchased an old New Holland 610 Corn Chopper that I found on auction for a good price. After I got the chopper home, and some general maintenance, I noticed that the push pin was missing from the PTO shaft.

While I'm familiar with a few different types of push pins, this one has me confused. On all of my other implements, there is always one side that has a smaller hole for the pin or spring to rest against, however, this yoke is a 1/2" all of the way through. There is a slot along the top of the yoke that makes it seem like it's more of a compression style fitting more so than a push pin style.

I have looked online and cannot find any information on this model of chopper. Does this yoke design require a typical push pin, or was this designed to hold a bolt?

The push pin hole is 1/2" in diameter on each side, and it's 1 3/4" long.

Thank you,
Adam

That's what I was thinking, but using a bolt seemed odd to me. I guess probably because I've never seen one used before.

That does use a bolt. Up to you if you would want to use a crimp nut or a lock washer. Don't use too long of a bolt either. That's one less thing to
catch your pant leg or shoelace. Also, when looking for information, you want to search for a New Holland 610 forage harvester. The heads are
interchangeable between corn & hay. They're kind of a pain in the butt with the long feeder on them, but it can be done.

My sickle mower has a small hole like that one and my tractor has a hole in the pto shaft and wither use a big 5/16 cotter key or I have a 5/16 pin with a bail on it
