Flexible PTO coupler

I have a late Cyclone broadcast spreader it is in need of a new flexible shaft. Any suggestions on where to find such thing?

How about a picture or two of your old shaft, it might help generate ideas to see exactly what you are looking for.
 
appears to be a 3/4'- 1' hole that the drive hose can hook into. I'm wondering if a 5/16" road high tensile steel rod would have enough flex to hook onto the pto without breaking. It really has no load on it when turning, except the stress.
of it being bent & turning.

That looks like a picture on the Big Iron Auction site from several years ago. If yours is similar, or that picture is yours, I would say no, rod will not replace the drive hose.
 
I have had 3 different blower motors on it & they last 2 years at the most. Was considering trying a heavy duty motor from a salt spreader. What type of motor do you have on yours? Can you provide a picture or part number?
