Does anyone here know what the dimensions are for the wooden staves on a header? Or by chance does anyone know where I can look to find the dimensions? It is a 12' header on a 260 or 261. Thanks for looking and any information.

If you mean the draper canvas,approxamately 1/2" thick,3/4" wide. As long as the canvas is wide. If you mean the wood reel bats,a 1x 6 12 foot long will do the job.

Maybe I am using the wrong terminology? My reel has a set of five spokes at each end and a set in the center. The batten boards go out on the ends of them to make up the reel. The wood is old and rotten and many have been replaced. They are 1" square so I would like to replace them with 1" square steel tubing. Thanks Steven

1x6" makes a nice reel batt.I have even seen batts made from corrugated roofing.The factory original batts on my JohnDeere 95 combine are similar to corrugated roofing. 1" sq tubeing will work fine for the supports.
