I need some suitcase weights for my tractor(706) I see different weights for sale but I do not have a part#. Anybody got any idea?

I put rock boxes in front all my tractors. Then you can use any kind weights. And you can also throw a grease gun in there and an oil can and a log chain and jumper cables.

Just do a google search on Craigslist. My preference is to search 'Farmall' or "IH". They are readily available in most every part of the country. Just be
willing to travel or wait a little for some to show up close to you. It seems the 75 pound ones (___92R1 part number) are liked by the pullers so many times the
100 pound ones are as cheap or cheaper than the 75 pound ones.

Dont need a part number. Just speciffy IH sutcase wt. They are available in 75,0r 100 pound sizes.
There are a couple of different 'styles',and some by independent foundrys. They are all
interchangeable. They all seem to sell for about a dollar a pound.

This brings back memories. My father had a 706, since before I was born. Dad hired the local, travelling welder to make a rock box for it, as soon as he bought it; because the front end would lift with his 4 bottom plows.

We used that box for everything.
To hold weight
To carry bales of twine out to the field while ferrying haywagons
As a bumper to push haywagons into the haybarn
As a hitch to chain to haywagons to pull the empties out
Almost always had a grease gun in it, during haying season

As a matter of fact, I was about ten years old before I saw another 706 and realized that the rock box wasn't part of the tractor... It was so handy, I thought they were built that way.
