501 sickle mower , lower lift spring assembly

Just got a 501 sickle mower that has left side of spring rod broken and missing.the spring is still working and attached to the bar. Is there anyone that can send info.so I can build a new rod. Thank you and this looks like a great place for info and discussions.

I don't know if this would be at all helpful, but here goes. A few years ago the spring rod (that I think you're referring to) broke on my 501 mower. I ordered a new
one, but in the meantime, I got a piece of all-thread at Home Depot. I cut it to length and was able to screw the two original ends onto it. It worked long enough for
me to get an exact replacement and make the permanent repair. If you need the mower badly enough, you might think about a temporary fix of all-thread.
