affordable parts for implements

Hello folks,

Does anyone know where a person can get affordable parts for implements like hay balers, mowers, etc? The dealerships are not a source of affordable parts, and I am tired of paying through the nose for mower parts, etc... I would be interested in new or used parts, as long as the used parts were of reliable quality.

I happen to live in Ontario, Canada, but sources in the States would also be welcome.

Two questions, first, what parts for what equipment? Second are you trying to buy original manufacturers replacement parts, or after market parts. After market parts like guards and sections, plough shares and cultivators points are available from many short line dealers
 
I’ve used A&I Parts, Fyfe parts, Westward Parts. Don’t know if you have any of them out east. Peavey Mart handles a lot of mower guards and sections. Princess Auto for hydraulic hoses and many other things. There has to be farm supply dealers as well
 
That’s the cheapest way . A lot of times you can by a whole machine for the price of one special part
 
Not related to this thread, but in a posting dated 8/12/2019 you included some images of knotter problems, causes and solutions that were infinitely superior and detailed compared to those in my standard NH knotter manual. Where did they come from? Look like they are from a manual somewhere!

Many thanks for that. I can grab them from the original post. Had a look at the book and it looks good, but hard to get here in Europe and covers more equipment than i need. Downloaded some John Deere baler manuals via Google and have to admit that the detail and quality of illustrtaions and instructions is far superior to the New Holland stuff, the the knotters look pretty much the same. Thanks for your help though.

You have given me, in total, 15 ideas of where to look for parts. One person wanted to know exactly what I am looking for - at the moment it is guards and/or ledger plates for a Massey Ferguson #41 sickle bar mower..... and a needle for a New Holland 270 square baler. I'll work on some of the leads you all gave me, and look for parts equipment as well.
