I have a MF 245 diesel. It's in good condition and runs well. About 4000 hours. I use it mostly for baling with a NH BC5050 baler. It has no issues running the baler. I've also used it previously on a NH315, again no issues. I really need to do something about a newer haybine. I currently use a Hesston PT7 that is really getting old and breaking often. Parts are difficult to come by. I usually run the mower with a JD1020 gas, again no issues, plenty of power. I use the JD because I don't have remotes on the MF (Yet). So I'd really like to have a NH472 which is about the same size as the PT7 and I'm sure would work just fine behind either the JD or MF. A couple of problems. While there seems to be an abundance of 472s across the country there is nothing and I mean nothing in the NW that I can find. I guess the next option is a NH 488, which is a couple feet larger and takes more hp to operate. There are very few of these around the NW but at least there are some. Shipping an assembled mower from say Ohio would be pretty costly, likely almost as much as the mower itself. So the question is, will either or both of my tractors run a NH488 without killing them? All flat ground, about 40 acres total in 5-7 acres parcels.
