JD346 knitter trouble

I have a JD 346 baler that runs about 2500
bales per year without issue. This has
bern the best baler I've owned. I replaced
the needle bearing in the plunger rod,
went out and baled 300 bales in one field
and 130 in another without issue. Went to
the next field and started breaking 2 out
of 10. The right knotter would make a knot
on the top of the bale but not the needler
side. I verified the needle position over
the twine disc. What I noticed is the
wiper was striking the bottom of the bill
hook hard (couldn't move it by hand). I
adjusted it to sweep the bottom of the
bill hook. I havent tried baling with it
yet. Just wondering if there are more
things I should look at before I go back
in the field.

Thanks Roger. I did notice that some chaff has built up under the hooked arm that engages the cam/roller that moves the tucker fingers. I wonder if it built up enough so that the roller would miss the hook? I finished my baling with the MF 124 back-up. I have it in the shop and will look when I finish my day job. I appreciate the input.

Roger,
You were right. I swung the knotters out of the way and watched the needles come up. The tucker fingers were contacting the needles so I moved them back until there was .035" clearance. When the fingers returned home I verified the clearance from the tip to the needle cut-out in the bale chamber. The left one was good but the right one (which had been missing the knots) was too far away. Moved it in and I'm ready to go find some windrows. Thank you so much! I'll let you know how it goes when I get back to making bales.
