farmhand f11-b cylinders

Were these cylinders made by farmhand back in the day, or did they source them from another company? My right side tilt cylinder started leaking fluid. I pulled it off today and looked around on the cylinder. I was not able to find a part number.

I was hoping to avoid paying the AGCO price which seems to be more than double what kits for other cylinders cost. I was able to order replacement pins to hold the bucket on for about 1/4 the cost of agco's.

Its possible they made some "back in the day" or they may have used suppliers. You could take it apart and take the parts to a hydraulic shop and have them matched up. It might not hurt to that the disassembled cylinder in case they need to check a measurement.

Baum Hydraulics shows kits for the Farmhand F11-B in their catalog. Here's a link: https://baumhydraulics.com/images/Catalog/sec-x.pdf . Page X17 Just need to figure out which cylinder is yours.

I bought seal kit for my F11 last year. IIRC,it was around 40 bucks.Came right from my local AgCO dealer.

I'm not sure I could even find a hydraulic shop around here. I called the one place listed as a machine shop and welding supply I found on yellowpages.com and google maps. They told me they didn't know anything about "that kind of stuff" but they had green eggs and scag lawnmowers for sale if I wanted either of those.

Looking at the baumhydraulics list, it looks like there are very few differences between the 3 cylinders with the shorter stroke. I am assuming the one with the 50 inch stroke is a lift cylinder. So I guess that I am either disassmbling the cylinder to look at the piston seal (no idea what or1b is) or looking for that part number stamped in the metal somewhere.

When you open the link page X2 should be there, before you scroll down to page X17 where the Farm and kits are. Pages 2 and 3 describe and have drawings of what the seal codes, like OR1B mean. OR1B info is the top of the right column of page 2. It means O-ring & 1 backup ring. You can use that info to see if it matches what you find in your cylinder at the specified location.

I see now. Missed that part. Thanks

I have used aftermarket and Agco seals on the farmhand
loaders and the Agco seals are better quality and worth the
extra cost .

Limited budget for this stuff so the more I can save on costs, the more I can fix. Once this cylinder is fixed I can finally start putting it to work I believe. Although I still need to attach a step to the back so I can get on the tractor. I need to look into attaching the loader to the tractor's hydraulics (if it will even work) instead of the pto. I've also been told that I'm going to have to convert the hitch to a 3pt if I want to use most implements.
