first plateless planter ?

hey, who had the first plateless planter? john deere 1240{JD 1300, ih cyclo? white oliver plant aire or ac air
champ?
any one have any experiences with any of these models?
good or bad?
or was it some other company with a plateless ?
just curious, i know there old and not used much any more, thanks

I used the JD 1240 finger planter first,then IH Cyclo 900,and later AC 385.Last two had better guage wheel and seed firming ,AC had best seed spacing.The JD 7200 , which I use now ,has good guage and seed firming wheels ,with the original 12 finger meter.Details of trash wipers,seed furrow openers ,firmers,closing wheels ,and down pressure settings on all have become main concerns.
