Snapper Head for forage harvester

I have a New Holland 790 pull type harvester. Is there snapper head available to fit it for doing cob meal? I believe New Holland made a snapper head for the bigger series of harvesters but is there something that will work on a 790? Thanks

I know there were snapper heads for the 770's and 892's. Most companies quit them a long time ago as the demand was next to nothing. We had a two row on our Deere 3940 and really liked the quality of the feed. A farmer in my area had a three row Deere head adapted to fit his NH FP230 or 240. Most farmers just hire a custom chopper with a self propelled machine. Tom

NH made a one row for the 7xx size choppers. the 2 row went on the 8xx/900 choppers. biggest issue may be finding one. Another option would be finding a New Idea 2 row picker with a grinder attachment in place of the sheller or husking bed. I have used both, and the NI made the cleanest, nicest feed.

We only did it once, but we picked it and ran it through the grinder mixer and into the blower

I see snapper heads advertised for sale every fall. Snapplage has been making a big comeback lately to feed dairy cows. Some guys just call it glorified corn silage. Cob meal made from kernel corn, harvested with a combined, the put through a grinder before being put into a bag, or put silo is now all the rage around me. I see snapper heads advertised for $1,200-$1,500
