new holland 467

You tighten them up untill the machine floats rather than drags. The manual might even tell you how many pounds of lift per side are required. Different mowing speeds might need different float. If it is to light at higher speeds the header will bounce to much. Always store the machine in the transport position to keep from stretching the springs. Tom

thanks for the info, adjusted the springs I have a 1"1/2 of left on the adjustment bolt the skid plates are still dragging there must be something I'm missing you think I need more cylinder stops I have three on it now

It is supposed to ride on the shoes with a certain amount of pressure. The mower needs to be open in the cutting position to set it. A rugged guy should be able to lift one end if you don't have a spec and a scale.

You do not want to use cylinder stops. There are skid shoes under the machine for height control. The stops might be why it will not float. I had a 467 for a few years when I started farming. Go to Ebay and get a manual. Tom
